Privacy Policy

Bagged Soil ("we", "us") runs baggedsoil.ca from Toronto, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email, phone number (if you give it), shipping address, what you ordered and any note you add.
- Payment confirmation: when you pay for a confirmed order, we keep a record that it was paid and the amount. We don't collect or store card numbers.
- Emails you send us, and our replies.
- Your cart: stored only in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.
- Basic technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
Why we use it
To confirm and ship your order, tell you the total and how to pay, send tracking, answer your questions, handle returns, protect the site from abuse, and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked for them, and we never sell or rent your information.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only what each one needs:
- Canada Post, to deliver your parcel (name, address, phone).
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and delivers order emails to us.
- Our email provider, which stores our correspondence with you.
- The payment provider you use to pay for a confirmed order, under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it. Some providers store data outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be accessed under local laws.
Cookies
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The "Save to Pinterest" button is a plain link: Pinterest only receives information if you click it.
How long we keep it
Records of orders are kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires (generally six years). Order requests that are never confirmed, and other emails, are deleted when we no longer need them.
How we protect it
Only the people who run the shop can see your information. Our accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-step sign-in where available.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent to uses that the law doesn't require. Email info@baggedsoil.ca and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
